Atlanta, GAWhy Things Fall – Part 2 is back on in a new location. Macey Ley will be exhibiting at Further Art in the group show Why Things Fall – Part 2. Though the location is the same as part 1 in November 2013, artists will be exhibiting new work. The exhibition continues to be a statement about the condition of human nature both in its raw and domesticated forms, where rules of gravity and of society play primary roles in each of the works on display.

Why Things Fall will be on display at Further Art with a reception Friday, January 25, 2014, from 6-9 p.m. and additional gallery hours Saturday, January 25,  10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The exhibition will present works on paper, sculpture, painting, and installation. Featured artists include Whitney Harrell, Macey Ley, Jeffry Loy, Cassidy Russell, and Ziyi Zhang.

Due to unforeseen events, Why Things Fall will not open January 10, 2014, as originally planned. A new venue and date is being worked out and I’ll let you know when and where as soon as the information becomes available.

Atlanta, GA – Macey Ley announced today that she will be exhibiting at Dewberry Gallery in the group show Why Things Fall. Part 2 is an encore exhibition of new work and some audience favorites from the first showing. The exhibition is a statement about the condition of human nature both in its raw and domesticated forms, where rules of gravity and of society play primary roles in each of the works on display.

Why Things Fall will be on display at Dewberry Gallery with a reception Friday, January 10, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. and additional gallery hours January 13-24, Tuesdays-Fridays from 1-6 p.m. The exhibition will present works on paper, sculpture, painting, and installation. Featured artists include Whitney Harrell, Macey Ley, Jeffry Loy, Cassidy Russell, and Ziyi Zhang.

Why Things Fall will be on display at Further Art with a reception November 22, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. and additional gallery hours November 23, 2013 from 12-5 p.m. The exhibition will present works on paper, sculpture, painting, and installation. Featured artists include Bora Choi, Whitney Harrell, Macey Ley, Jeffry Loy, Cassidy Russell, and Ziyi Zhang.

Macey Ley Selected to Exhibit at Las Laguna Gallery

Macey Ley announced today that her fumage photograph æther 2 was selected for exhibition at the small works – BIG TALENT exhibition, at Las Laguna Gallery in Laguna Beach, California. The exhibition includes works in all media under 16″ in any dimension. A 6″ x 4.72″ version of æther 2 will be on digital display September 7-28, 2013.

Las Laguna Gallery is located at 815 Laguna Canyon Rd, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. Gallery hours are 11am – 5pm, Monday through Saturday. Opening reception is September 7, 6pm – 10pm.

The Book as Art: 21st Century Meets Tradition

Presented by the Decatur Arts Alliance and the Art Institute of Atlanta – an Event of the 2013 AJC Decatur Book Festival

The Decatur Arts Alliance (DAA), in conjunction with the gallery of The Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur, is bringing the first juried exhibition of artists’ books to the AJC-Decatur Book Festival — the largest independent book festival in the country.

Macey Ley’s single-edition book TV Dinner for Zombies will be on display at the Gallery at The Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur at One West Court Square, Suite 110 through September 20, 2013 (gallery hours below).

Macey Ley announced today that her single-edition book TV Dinner for Zombies was selected for exhibition at the The Book as Art: 21st Century Meets Tradition, a featured exhibition of the AJC-Decatur Book Festival in Decatur, Georgia. Sponsored by the Decatur Arts Alliance and The Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur, The Book as Art will be on view in the gallery of The Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur at 6600 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30328.

Macey Ley announced today that two of her artist books were chosen for a group exhibition at the 6th Annual Jurried Artist Book Show at the Savannah College of Art and Design Book Arts Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia. Her books TV Dinner for Zombies and Women Hold Up Half the Sky will be on display at at the college’s library at 1600 Peachtree Street through July 15, 2013.
