ATLANTA, GA:  Macey Ley’s sculpture The Belt of Orion’s Never Wife is up for bid during the 2016 Hambidge Art Auction + Field Experiment Gala. Co-presented by the Goat Farm Arts Center, the gala will take place on Saturday, April 23. Stimulating the senses, triggering new thoughts and offering moments of contemplation, this year’s event will yield a tangled rhythm of inspiring experiences, including visual and performing art, installations and craft food and drinks.

Private Preview Party, 5-7pm
Sponsors, patrons, hosts and VIP ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase $100 Works on Paper, the first glimpse of the Field Experiment finalists’ projects, and will enjoy a special selection of tasty food and craft cocktails, including an outdoor cooking extravaganza by Kevin Rathbun.

Auctioned artwork is available for in-person viewing at the Goat Farm Art Center. Guests can bid for their favorite works online through their mobile devices.

Macey Ley Exhibits at Hambidge Center

ATLANTA, GA:  Macey Ley announced today that When the Hush Fell Upside Down has been selected for exhibition at the Lightweight at the Hambidge Center Weave Shed Gallery in Rabun Gap, GA. Lightweight includes artwork by Hambidge Fellows exploring definitions of and connections with the term ‘lightweight.’ Work will be on display March 19 – June 11, 2016, with a reception on Friday, March 19, 4-6 p.m.

The Hambidge Center is located at 105 Hambidge Court, Rabun Gap, GA 30568. Gallery hours are Tues.-Fri. 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sat. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

 

Going to Hambidge Center Creative Residency

Does It Matter Atom Smasher - detailATLANTA, GA – Macey Ley has been selected to participate in the Hambidge Center creative residency this fall and was awarded a distinguished fellowship. Hambidge fellows are creative minds representing the widest possible range of perspectives and demographics including visual artists, writers, poets, scientists, ceramicists, musicians, choreographers, chefs and beyond.

As part of her residency, Ley will participate in the annual Hambidge Great ARTdoors Festival Saturday, October 10, 2015,10 a.m. – 5 p.m. She and other resident artists will open their studios to the public during the all-day event, which includes live music, local food, hayrides, tours of the artist-in-residence studios, artist talks, art installations, demonstrations, and activities for all ages.

Tickets are $10 in advance, or $15 at the door. VIP tickets are also available for $75, and children under 12 are offered free admission.
